Kehua Agriculture: Make the best use of everything and make a difference in green circular agriculture

A more than 20-meter-long production line is in operation, with recycled waste agricultural film at one end and crushed and cleaned plastic fragments rolling out at the other end. In the next factory building, the newly collected plastic fragments are continuously poured into two sheet lines. After melting, extrusion, and slitting, new plastic sheets are slowly produced from the production line.

This is the Kehua Agricultural Film Recycling Project in Touzhao Town. At the end of 2021, Jiangsu Kehua Agricultural Technology Co., Ltd. invested in building a factory in the industrial park of our town. After more than a year of construction, it was put into trial production in July this year. It is precisely with the cooperation of the above set of production lines that Kehua Agriculture can currently process about 10 tons of waste agricultural film every day. After all the production lines are put into operation, 50,000 tons of waste agricultural films can be disposed of annually, and 10,000 tons of blow-molded products such as agricultural mulch films, 18,000 tons of injection-molded products such as fruit boxes, and 15,000 tons of suction and compression-molded products such as seedling trays can be produced, becoming a new force in promoting the development of Dongtai's green circular agriculture.

"I am a native of Touzao. I have been dealing with agriculture all my life, especially in recent years, I have increasingly felt the importance of green agriculture." Sun Yiping, chairman of Kehua Agriculture, said that he has always wanted to do something to give back to his hometown. With the introduction of the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau and the support of the Touzao Town Party Committee and Government, Sun Yiping decided to focus the project on solving agricultural waste management and developing ecological circular agriculture, "collecting agricultural waste plastics, and then making agricultural plastics to return to farmers, truly realizing the full cycle of renewable resources."

Kehua Agriculture covers an area of nearly 40 acres and has two large 3-story factory buildings. The second floor of the sheet production workshop is its back-end compression production line. 12 compressors can meet the production of different fruit and vegetable seedling trays such as seedlings, strawberry seedlings, cabbage seedlings, and watermelon seedlings. One compressor can produce 12,000 seedling trays a day. With 12 equipment running at full capacity, the daily output can reach 150,000. The three production lines, the cleaning line, the sheet line, and the compression line, are connected front and back, and the agricultural plastic waste in the field is recycled into agricultural plastic products, which solves the dilemma of "white pollution" in farmland and makes the rural ecological environment healthy and clean. More importantly, the three production lines can not only cooperate in operation, but any one of them can be taken out separately to form a sales product. For example, some farmers only need plastic fragments and plastic particles, and the semi-finished products produced by the cleaning line can meet their needs. Some farmers only need sheets or seedling trays. The semi-finished products produced by the sheet line and the finished products produced by the compression line can be provided independently. Some farmers even just want to dispose of the agricultural film and sell it directly to Kehua Agriculture for recycling. The agricultural film recycling system that is both connected and independent allows Kehua Agriculture to have a wider range of customers. On the basis of serving the recycling of agricultural waste plastics in the region, it has also been favored by customers in Hainan, Shanxi, Sichuan and other places.

Sun Yiping said that the company will continue to increase its investment and plans to add 10 more cleaning lines to serve the collection and cleaning of agricultural films and ground films throughout the city, and to add 4 sheet lines and 48 compression molding lines to reprocess plastic products to meet the recycling of agricultural waste plastics in Dongtai. It will also do a better job in the recycling of rural resources and promote the green and low-carbon development of Dongtai's agriculture and rural areas.
